I've never seen the inside of a bar room
Or listened to a Jukebox all night long
But I see these are the things that bring you pleasure
So I'm gonna make some changes in our home
I've heard it said if you can't beat 'em join 'em
So if that's the way you wanted me to be
I'll change if it takes that to make you happy
From now on you're gonna see a different me
Because your good girl's gonna go bad
I'm gonna be the swinginest swinger you've ever had
If you like 'em painted up, powdered up
Then you oughta be glad
'Cause your good girl's gonna go bad
I'll even learn to like the taste of whisky
In fact, you'll hardly recognize your wife
I'll buy some brand new clothes and dress up fancy
For my journey to the wilder side of life
Because your good girl's gonna go bad
I'm gonna be the swinginest swinger you've ever had
If you like 'em painted up, powdered up
Then you oughta be glad
'Cause your good girl's gonna go bad
Oh yeah, your good girl's gonna go bad

Once a Day
03:32
|
|||
When you found somebody new I thought I never would
Forget you for I thought then I never could
But time has taken all the pains away
Until now I'm down to hurtin' once a day
Once a day (once a day) all day long (all day long)
And once a night (once a night) from dusk till dawn (dusk till dawn)
The only time I wish you weren't gone
Is once a day every day all day long
I'm so glad that I'm not like the girl I knew one time
She lost the one she loved then slowly lost her mind
She sat around and cried her life away
Lucky me I'm only crying once a day
Once a day (once a day) all day long (all day long)
And once a night (once a night) from dusk till dawn (dusk till dawn)
The only time I wish you weren't gone
Is once a day every day all day long
Is once a day every day all day long
Once a day (once a day) all day long (all day long)
And once a night (once a night) from dusk till dawn (dusk till dawn)
The only time I wish you weren't gone
Is once a day every day all day long
Is once a day every day all day long

My rockets were disqualified
For reasons I'm too old to understand
But there are still a few things
That I need to help me become all I can
But speaking of the weather
The weather is a dead man
In chapter one we'll be discussing
I need a tube amplifier to express my inner feelings
Followed by an in depth review
Of that's what you said about the saxophone
But speaking of the weather
The weather is a dead man
The weather is a dead man
As the semester ends we'll be concentrating
On why you can't stand to see me having fun
Followed by a closing statement
Based on the concept, oh, come on
But speaking of the weather
The weather is a dead man
The weather is a dead man
My rockets were disqualified
For reasons I'm too old to understand
And there are still a few things
That I need to help me become all I can
But speaking of the weather
The weather is a dead man
The weather is a dead man

Rain dripping off the brim of my hat
It sure is cold today
And here I am'a walking down sixty-six
Wish she hadn't done me that way
Sleeping under a table at a road side park
A man could wake up dead
But it sure seems warmer than it did
Sleepin' in our king size bed
Is anybody goin' to San Antone
Or Phoenix Arizona
Anyplace is alright as long as I
Can forget I've ever known her
Wind whipping down the neck of my shirt
Like I ain't got nothing on
But I'd rather be fighting the wind and rain
Than what I've been fighting at home
Yonder comes a truck with the US mail
People writing letters back home
Tomorrow she'll probably want me back
But I'll still be just as gone
Is anybody goin' to San Antone
Or Phoenix Arizona
Anyplace is alright as long as I
Can forget I've ever known her
Is anybody goin' to San Antone
Or Phoenix Arizona
Anyplace is alright as long as I
Can forget I've ever known her
Is anybody goin' to San Antone
Or Phoenix Arizona
Anyplace is alright as long as I
Can forget I've ever known her

Jolly Coppers on Parade
04:50
|
|||
They're comin' down the street
They're comin' right down the middle
Look how they keep the beat
Now they're as blue as the ocean
And the sun shines down
How their feet barely touch the ground
Jolly coppers on parade
Here come the black and whites
Here come the motorcycles
Listen to those engines roar
Now they're doin' tricks for the children
And it's all so nice
Looks like angels have come down from paradise
Jolly coppers on parade
Oh, mama
That's the life for me
When I'm grown
That's what I'm gonna be
They're comin' down the street
They're comin' right down the middle
Look how they keep the beat
They're just as blue as the ocean
Oh, it's all so nice
Look like angels coming down from paradise
Jolly coppers on parade
Jolly coppers on parade
Jolly coppers on parade

Amos Moses
03:50
|
|||
Yeah, here comes Amos
Now Amos Moses was a Cajun
He lived by himself in the swamp
He hunted alligator for a living
He'd just knock them in the head with a stump
The Louisiana law gonna get you, Amos
It ain't legal hunting alligator down in the swamp, boy
Now everybody blamed his old man
For making him mean as a snake
When Amos Moses was a boy
His daddy would use him for alligator bait
Tie a rope around his neck and throw him in the swamp
Alligator bait in the Louisiana bayou
About forty-five minutes southeast of Thibodaux, Louisiana
Lived a man called Doc Mills South and his pretty wife Hannah
Well, they raised up a son that could eat up his weight in groceries
Named him after a man of the cloth
Called him Amos Moses, yeah
Now the folks around south Louisiana
Said Amos was a hell of a man
He could trap the biggest, the meanest alligator
And he'd just use one hand
That's all he got left 'cause an alligator bit it
Left arm gone clear up to the elbow
Well the sheriff caught wind that Amos was in the swamp trapping alligator skin
So he snuck in the swamp gonna get the boy
But he never come out again
Well I wonder where the Louisiana sheriff went to
Well you can sure get lost in the Louisiana bayou
About forty-five minutes southeast of Thibodaux, Louisiana
Lived a cat called Doc Mills South and his pretty wife Hannah
Well, they raised up a son that could eat up his weight in groceries
Named him after a man of the cloth
Called him Amos Moses
Sit down on 'em Amos!
Make it count son
About forty-five minutes southeast of Thibodaux, Louisiana
Lived a man called Doc Mills South and his pretty wife Hannah

There's a picture that I carry
One we made some time ago
When they ask who's in the picture with me
I say just someone I used to know
Just someone I used to spend some time with
Just a flame that's lost its glow
But I don't tell them of the nights I cried without you
I say just someone I used to know
Just someone I used to run around with
Just a friend from long ago
I don't tell them all the nights I cried without you
I say just someone I used to know
I say just someone I used to know

Well you thought I'd be waitin' up when you came home last night
You'd been out with all the boys and you ended up half tight
Liquor and love, they just don't mix
Leave that bottle or me behind
And don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind
No don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind
Just stay out there on the town and see what you can find
'Cause if you want that kind of love well you don't need none of mine
Now don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind
You never take me anywhere because you're always gone
Many a night I've stayed awake and cried dear all alone
Then you come in a-kissin' on me it happens every time
Now don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind
No don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind
Just stay out there on the town and see what you can find
'Cause if you want that kind of love well you don't need none of mine
Now don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind
No don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind

You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere
04:39
|
|||
(This one is for mi suegra)
Clouds so swift
Rain won't lift
Gate won't close
Railings froze
Get your mind of wintertime
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair
I don't care
How many letters they sent
The morning came and morning went
Pick up your money
And pack up your tent
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair
Buy me a flute
And a gun that shoots
Tailgates some substitutes
Tie yourself
To a tree with roots
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair
Oh, Genghis Khan
He could not keep
All his kings
Supplied with sleep
We'll climb that hill no matter how steep
When we get up to it
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair

You're standing there looking at me
With hurt running down your cheeks
But that don't move me anymore
For now experience speaks
If you would only change your mind
I might just lend an ear
But I've heard these word too many times
They've lost their meaning dear
So so long, Charlie Brown
Don't look for me around
I'll wash your footprints off my back
Throw my other face in a sack
I'll leave the Kleenex box for you
If you want to carry your act on through
We've worn it to the ground
Charlie Brown
What we once had can live no more
It died from lack of care.
To grow a rose and make it bloom
A root must first be there
The things we want we can only get
By going our separate ways
It's going time and so I'm off
To live some better days
So so long, Charlie Brown
Don't look for me around
I'll wash your footprints off my back
Throw my other face in a sack
I'll leave the Kleenex box for you
If you want to carry your act on through
We've worn it to the ground
Charlie Brown

Crazy
04:49
|
|||
Crazy, I'm crazy for feeling so lonely
I'm crazy, crazy for feeling so blue.
And I knew you'd love me as long as you wanted,
And then someday you'd leave me for somebody new.
Worry, why do I let myself worry?
Wondering what in the world did I do?
And I'm crazy for thinking that my love could hold you,
I'm crazy for trying and crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you.
Worry, why do I let myself worry?
Keep on wondering what in the world did I do to you.
Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you
I'm crazy for trying and I'm crazy for crying,
And I'm crazy for loving you.

Can't go home if you're goin' by the mill
'Cause the gate's washed out
At the bottom of the hill
Big Creek's up and Little Creek's level
Plow my corn with a double shovel
Stay all night, stay a little longer
Dance all night, dance a little longer
Pull off your coat, throw it in the corner
Don't see why you can't stay a little longer
Sittin' in the window singin' to my love
Slop bucket fell from the window above
Mule and the grasshopper eatin' ice cream
Mule got sick so they laid him on the green
Stay all night, stay a little longer
Dance all night, dance a little longer
Pull off your coat, throw it in the corner
Don't see why you can't stay a little longer
Well you ought to see my blue eyed Sally
She lives away down on Shinbone Alley
The number on the gate, number on the door
The next house over is a grocery store
Stay all night, stay a little longer
Dance all night, dance a little longer
Pull off your coat, throw it in the corner
Don't see why you can't stay a little longer
Don't see why you can't stay a little longer
